Strategy comes from the Greek ‘στρατηγία’ (strategia) and refers to the guide the army must follow in order to achieve a goal under uncertainty. Here is your army, our army, and the main objective is your victory.
The strategy involves setting goals, determining the actions to achieve the objectives and mobilizing resources to implement the actions. A strategy describes how the purposes (goals) will be achieved through the means (resources).
In short, the strategy is ‘what’ and tactics are ‘how’.
